Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker

Shifts and Schedule: Day, Night, and Weekend shifts available


Job Description


  1. Duties: Responsibilities will vary based on the specific client and level of care required.
    These may include:
    • Providing direct care and support to individuals in need, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, and dressing.
    • Assisting with meal preparation and feeding.
    • Administering prescribed medications.
    • Assisting with mobility and transfers using approved techniques and equipment.
    • Offering companionship and emotional support to clients.
    • Performing light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and tidying living spaces.
    • Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare team members.
    • Following instructions and working independently or as part of a team.
    • Encouraging clients to make the most of their day through activities such as shopping and housekeeping.
    • Accompanying clients to appointments, shopping trips, or outings.
    • Assisting with toileting and continence care.
    • Observing, monitoring, and maintaining accurate records.
    • Monitoring clients’ health status.
    • Documenting and reporting to appropriate leads.
  2. Person Specification
    • Experience:
      Essential:
      Previous experience as a care worker or formal carer working with adults.
      Caring, kind, reliable, patient, and compassionate.
      100% committed to improving the quality of life for vulnerable individuals.

      Desirable:
      Willingness to pursue an NVQ qualification.

      Expertise/Competence:
      Essential:
      Evidence of lone working and excellent time management skills.
      Ability to prioritise work effectively.
      Strong written and verbal communication skills.

      Desirable:
      Competence in clinical procedures and observations.
  3. Progression Opportunities:
    • Opportunity for progression to Senior Carer, Team Leader, or Care Coordinator roles.
  4. Disclosure and Barring Service Check:
    • Please note that this position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. As a result, it will be necessary to submit a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to verify any previous criminal convictions.
  5. Minimum Requirements:
    • GCSE or equivalent qualification.
    • Minimum of 6 months of experience in the health and care industry.
    • DBS Clearance.
    • Two written professional references.
    • Evidence of relevant qualifications and training.
    • Right to work.
    • National Insurance documentation (NI card, P45, or P60).
    • Must be over 18 years of age.
